| I'm a mean mom because I said no playstation or computer til rooms are cleaned | | My kids keep their rooms totally messy, so I have told them they could not watch TV or play playstation or computer games until their rooms were clean so now I gota tantrum....Iput together afamily, or tried to get us all around teh table to play a long game of monopoly but one of my kids and husband said no dice to it, it would have given us family time and been an activity that we could have done without spending any money and had fun....but my husband seems to forget that we rarely do anything without going out and things that entail spending moeny, so I tried to get a way to be together that would be cheap and fun, my youngest threw a defiant tantrum, and my huband wasn't any better---so now all my kids are sulking because we aren't doing anything fun.....and I just told my youngest to go throw her tantrum by her dad.....this is what really upsets me.......my kids want to go out like Gettysburg or Havre de Grace, and with gas prices so high I wanted to just stay home....Monopoly is the only game I think we have that we could all play as a family, I ahd been supervising the kids playing for the past couple of hours and a couple of my kids wanted to play again, so I... | |

| no tv, no computer, no electronics!!!!???? | | What was I thinking? It is summer break and we decide now is the time to tell all 4 kids they can't watch TV, or listen to the radio, or play playstation or computer? I must be crazy. You can't enforce that. They will whine all summer long. They will be at each others throats.
I have 4 kids ages 6 to 15. We made a decision a few weeks ago that they would not have electronic privledges. It started out as a week long grounding for all 4. It has turned in to a summer long blessing. My kids, like many siblings around the world, have some problems. 1) they don't get out of the house much 2) they don't play with each other 3) they fight all the time 4) they are constantly bored.
So why did we take away electronics? Would the games and TV and all that keep them occupied? You would think so, but what I found is just the opposite. Yeah the first week was rough to say the least. But after they saw that we were not backing down a miracle happened...They found other things to do. (you can almost hear the Hallalujah Chorus plaing in the background) Not only that, but they WANTED to go outside. Not only that but now the get UPSET if they have to come in. | | Cleaning Playstation 2 Discs | | i was just wondering if anyone knows how to clean up marks off a PlayStation 2 disc? i bought one second hand yesterday took it home put it in and it doesnt work properly and there is a smudge on the back of the disc, and ideas on how i can clean it?

Before they wouldn't even talk to each other and now they are asking each other if they would like to play a board game, or put a puzzle together, or go outside and play water gun fight or ride bikes together.
Here I thought it would be world war III and instead it has brought peace to our house.

I think they hack it not only for fun but also for protecting their pockets to buy costly games for this consoles. So frndz what u say, m i right or some else reason is there. | |
